Join us for our second social drive of the year!

The unseasonably warm weather has inspired us to continue our theme of having lunch by the water, so we will visit the stunning destination of Austinmer Beach for our lunch.

The meet location in South West Sydney (exact location to be confirmed with registered attendees 1 week prior to the event) will offer great breakfast and takeaway menu options, as well as excellent coffee. There will then be a driver briefing and a social drive via the Royal National Park to our destination for a 12:30pm lunch.

Lunch at Headlands Hotel will be nice and casual, attendees simply order and pay at the bar. Find the menu here. We will be seated in the beer garden which offers the most spectacular view of the coast, and is undercover. The hotel also offer accommodation if you'd like to make a weekend out of it.

Following lunch, you may wish to explore the local area, Thirroul is a great nearby town that offers something for everyone.

Hurry, register now as these events fill up fast, but please only register if you are certain that you can attend as you are taking the valuable place of another person otherwise who would really love to attend.

    Important notes:

    1. The exact meet location will be in South West Sydney area and the exact meet location and time will be provided to registered attendees one week prior to the event.
    2. 5 watt CB radios are highly recommended for use, so drivers are aware of upcoming turns and potential hazards. The club will offer a few radios on the day for loan, however we recommend our regular attendees purchase their own.
    3. Cancellations can be made through the event via your login on the club website. This will allow someone who is on the waitlist to join us on the drive.
    4. Tail-end-charlie - If you are happy to follow up the rear of the convoy to keep everyone together, please email Ash. Otherwise she will take nominations at the driver briefing.

Please send any queries to Ash at ash.sherry@bmwclubnsw.asn.au

There are two Scrutiny forms. Download the appropriate form for your car, use it to check your car is ok, sign the form, and bring it with you to Scrutineering. One form for Road Registered Cars and one for our Club Supersprint Cars.

So that our Flag Marshals can refer to your car, other than just a black or white or silver BMW, it must have an appropriate 2 or 3 digit car number label on both sides. Include your desired car number on your Registration Form.  That becomes your number for this Driver Experience evening but if you choose a number that someone else already has then I will email with a suggested alternative. We have Motorsport Australia correct size and type sticky digits for sale at the Sign-on desk for $3 each or you can get Wheelie Bin numbers from Bunnings. Numbers must be white or black contrasting to your car colour and we do not accept numbers made out of bits of stick tape.

This is the BMW / Porsche Challenge. It is our most exciting Supersprint with a contingent of 60 BMWs challenging a contingent of 60 Porsches.  How can that work you might ask?  We divide the field into 5 Speed teams.  PCNSW selects 5 Porsches and we select 5 BMWs for each of the speed teams.

If you are not in a challenge team then this is simply a normal Supersprint to enjoy with a bunch of Porsches.  Actually all the cars are in their club's Supersprint championship for regular Championship points. The BMW/Porsche challenge Teams are

Team 1  where there is no limit to this team's speed. The fastest car scores 10 points down to the 10th car gets one point.

Team 2 has a fastest lap time of 1:43.  Cars are selected for this team who are expected to reliably go go close to 1:43 without bettering it. Faster than 1:43 and that car is eliminated.  Closest is 10 points in order down to 1 point for slowest in the team.

Team 3 fastest lap time of 1:46,  Team 4 is 1:49,  and Team 5 is 1:54

Registration opens on 5 Apr.  The Supp. Regs. and all the usual document will be here by 5 Apr.

If you are not running in this Supersprint then please register as a Flag Marshal to be at the most exciting place at the track, watching those fabulous machines flash by and help keeping them safe with flag/light signals.

This event is the BMW/Porsche Challenge and is also a round of BMW Club's and Porsche Club's individual 2024 Supersprint Championship.  For 2024 this event is hosted by Porsche Club who will provide most of the event management.  We must provide our own Registration, Sign-on Desk, BMW Scrutineering and a set of 6 Flag Marshals.  Here is where those of us who will man the Sign-on Desk, be our Scrutineers and our 6 Flag Marshals. We are all volunteers working together with the Porsche Club.

Thank you to the volunteers who ran SS.1 back on 3 Feb and SS.2 on 9 Mar.

Supersprint Rules 2024 Ver.1, Rule 1.0 & Rule 6.4. are the calls for volunteers.

Our volunteer drivers will receive valuable championship points for taking a day off driving, registering here and attend the evening as a Flag Marshal. Thank you for encouraging a friend or family member to register here as an official.

There are other roles to consider:  scrutineering team and Sign-on Desk staff.

Flag Marshals are very involved in all the action with a set of Flags, a MyLaps control unit for the track observation lighting system and a transceiver for communicating with Race Control.  Experience is not necessary as we run a full Flag Marshal Briefing. Flag Marshals may have appreciation laps in the passenger's seat of a Supersprint Car.
