Recall notice from BMW.

There has been a problem with airbags supplied to 19 car manufacturers by Takata. BMW Group Australia wishes to get the Takata Airbag recall message out to as many owners as possible. Vehicles often change ownership without records being updated with BMW GA so please Download the notice from BMW GA and check if your car needs to have the airbag/s replaced.

Supersprint Round 1 Results

There is a set of preliminary results for Round 1 published in Motorsport Results on this website. They are prepared using the best lap times from all sessions.

To finalise the results we need Annex C forms from all drivers. The Classes for some cars may change when all Annex C forms are considered. If you are running on R spec tyres then make sure your Annex C includes the 20 points for those tyres.

The Club's Motorsport Subcommittee is reviewing these results to make sure cars are in the correct class and that the points allocated for modifications are correct. We need Annex C forms for all cars that compete in Classes A, B, C, D, MA, MB and Prep B. There is no requirement for an Annex C from drivers with cars in Class Prep A, R or Class O.

For our Motorsport you need a CAMS Level 2 Speed (L2S) licence and your car must comply with the requirements of the CAMS Manual of Motor Sports 2017 and this is checked at scrutineering. The scrutineering form used for evaluating your vehicle's condition is available here. You should Download this scrutineering form, fill it in as you use it to check that your car meets all the requirements, sign the form and bring it with you.

Schedule H describes Fire Extinguishers. These have to be mounted correctly and have a 3 year life before servicing or replacement. Check your fire extinguisher.

CAMS Club Challenge Hillclimb

Last year our team of Alex, Josh, Tom, Adrian and Bob represented our club at this interesting motorsport discipline. It is on again and we have a team of Anthony and Josh and need more team members. Entry closes 9 Feb so if you are interested contact Anthony . If we have more entries then we will form another team. The event is at Ringwood Park near Raymond Terrace. For all the DETAILS. 6 Hour Teams Relay Event

Over the years some members of our club have enjoyed 6 Hour Regularity Relay events. These events have teams of 4, 5 or 6 drivers and cars from a wide range of sporting car clubs driving in this relay event. NSW Road Racing Club is running the NSW 6 Hour on the Easter Weekend 31 March and 1 April 2018 at Sydney Motorsport Park GP (Gardner) Circuit. The maximum number of teams is 40 and entries closed on Australia Day.

We know about one team entered "The BMW A Team" (Team Manager Grant with drivers Chris, Glen, Gerard and Robert). Come along at Easter to lend a hand as pit crew and to cheer on our team.

Sad Passing of Clive Teece

Clive Teece joined our club in 1998 as a country member and was active in the club for 12 years. He was involved in racing his 2002 mostly at Wakefield Park.

There is a memorial service for Clive on Sunday 18^th February at “The Briars Inn”, 653 Moss Vale Road, Burradoo at 11.30 am, light lunch provided, pay for own drinks.
