Cars & Coffee - Dyno Day at Bromspec

27 June 2021 at 10.30am

Bromspec MotorWorks has opened up for a Dyno Test Day. We are run a competition for members with four (4) members eligible to win a free dynamometer run for their treasured BMW. The Dynamometer runs will be conducted courtesy of Bromspec BMW in Brookvale which is under the new ownership of Julian and Lachlan Donohue. Bromspec BMW have operated on the Northern Beaches for many years and have become a trusted service agent for hundreds of proud BMW owners and are supporting and sponsoring this activity for our club.
The competition is you as a club member write into the committee and tell us about the BMW you own and why you would like to see just how much power and torque it is producing – say around about 400 to 500 words. Tell us about how you use the vehicle (daily driver, weekend toy, motorsport event fun, tarmac rally, classic etc), the goals, maybe the modifications done, the challenges and what is left to do. The car of choice you write up, may be stock standard, or it could have some stage of tune which you would like to have verified from what you feel through the seat of your pants when you drive it.

The committee review submissions and will create a short list from the member’s responses, then work with the management of Bromspec BMW to judge the submissions and select the four which are the most interesting. Your submission might be a complete nut and bolt restoration, or an old barn find in stock condition, it does not have to be the most powerful, but you need to write it up, don’t hold back in adding in some clean humour about your journey with having your car.

The Club will reserve the right to use your submissions, complete with your captivating photographs (Hi Res versions please) in the subsequent editions of Torque of the Town, whether you win the competition or not. If you enter this, you will make a difference in your club!

The Dyno-Day will then be confirmed along with a late morning Cars & Coffee and have members attend and witness the whole testing procedure. We will even run a competition on the day for attendees to guess the power and torque of the winner’s cars. Videos will be taken on the day, your car will be on our Facebook, Web site and Youtube. There is Bucketty’s Brewery directly opposite and they will assist in supporting the event. Should be a load of fun.

Submissions should be sent to by the 31st May. Winners shall be announced on 12th June and the Dyno Day event will be 27th June 2021 (COVID permitting, of course)

Registration for this event will open on 23 May 2021. Please sign up to our newsletter below if you would like to be reminded closer to the event date.
