It was a chilly start to the day at 5 degrees however the sun shone throughout for what was an amazing day of motorkhana competition and sliding. Turnout was a little lower as to be expected due this event being scheduled on Mother's Day but we had a had a few mothers show up which was excellent!
Due to the lower turnout, this meant that we finished a little early and everyone got a lot of extra track time to try their hand at learning to handbrake turn, drift and J-turn. Half of the field were non-BMWs with a lot of Golfs and 86/BRZs competing with the highlight being Pete Wilson turning up in his Camry and pulling off some very entertaining handbrake turns.
Thank you to all of the volunteers, Kim Hunter (our Clerk of the Course who came despite it being Mother's Day), Pat Jenkins, Julian Jenkins, Bob Williams, Ian McLachlan and Alex Wong. Thank you to John Law for providing the photos of the event.
Congratulations to the winners and see you all at Motorkhana Round 3 on the 3rd of June!
