It is with deep sadness that we report the untimely passing of Kim Hunter on Saturday evening 2 July. Her husband David was by her side. We offer our sincere condolences for the passing of Kim and are indebted to her, as our Motorsport Australia Clerk of the Course, for her support and diligence, tireless contribution to Motorsport including grassroots motorsport and as a friend of BMW Drivers Club NSW. Her passing at 42 is far too early and she will be sincerely missed.
A small group from our club attended the Funeral ceremony at Wakefield Park on Friday 22 July. This ceremony was conducted by Gary Colman, Motorsport Australia Chaplain. We then proceeded in a Funeral Procession to Goulburn General Cemetery where Kimmy was berried in her family plot.
Kim Hunter was a Motorsport Australia Official who dedicated herself to providing volunteer service as Clerk of the Course, Steward and Scrutineer for Motorsport Events. She officiated at most of our BMW Drivers Club Supersprints for the last 3 years. We called on all those who knew Kim and were able to enjoy their Motorsport with Kim’s ever vigilant support, to aid in her send-off with finances to assist with her Funeral expenses. Our gofundme contributions were passed to Kim's husband, David.
At our Supersprint at Wakefield Park on 13 August we all joined in a Parade Lap as a sendoff for Kim. Rest in peace.
