Registration is open for our first Supersprint Rnd 1 and Come & Try / Track Day on the Gardner (GP) Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park!
We ran this Supersprint and Track day on Druitt in February 2025 and it was popular for Supersprint drivers having their fist competition event for the year and for club members who just want to have a non-competitive day enjoying a drive on that car race circuit. This year we are opening up on the Gardner GP Circuit.
A Supersprint is a multi-car speed event conducted on a circuit in cars that are grouped together based on similar lap times. This Supersprint forms Round 1 of our 2026 Supersprint Championship. See the 2025 Supersprint rules on Supersprint
The Come & Try / Track Day ticket allows participating drivers who wish to try out this motorsport circuit in a controlled environment with no competition.
We expect to have four or five groups of around 20 cars, in each group, running on the day, and will aim for three or four Competitor groups, that is Supersprint Drivers, and one or two Participant groups, that is Come & Try / Track Day, Drivers. The number of groups will depend on the number of drivers who register. On the day, groups will follow in a sequence SS1, SS2, TD, SS3 or some other list of groups with equal time for each group.
The entry fee is the same for either Supersprint Competitors or Come & Try / Track Day Participants, and all have equal track time.
To understand how this combined day works, download, read and understand the Prelim. Supp. Regs
Supersprint Competitors must read the 2025 Supersprint Drivers Rules. These are in addition to the Supp. Regs. and the Supersprint championship Rules. Speed groups with cars placed fastest to slowest, Scrutiny checked and drivers are required to have a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence
For Come & Try / Track Day participants must also read the 2025 Track Driver Rules and:
- the car has current Australian registration, is road legal and you drive the car to the circuit,
- no fire extinguisher is required, however a tow hook is recommend but not compulsory,
- approved helmet and appropriate apparel required,
- no timing, and no published results. Driving behaviours observed.
Track Day participants can either purchase a Motorsport Australia one day Introductory Licence for $40, download it, fill it in and bring it with you or have a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence.
All cars on the track must have a 2 digit car number on both sides of the car. These are to Motorsport Schedule K and are 230mm high white or black, stick on, digits. Choose your own number and it is yours unless already claimed by another driver, then we will sort it out by email. Number digits are for sale at the sign-on desk $3.50 each, so $14 credit card or buy them from sign shops for more than $5 each. We also have white number panels. Numbers made out of sticky tape are not permitted.
There is a Event Master Form that combines the requirement of Compliance, Disclaimer and Scrutiny for Competitors and Participants. For Supersprint Competitors, complete online Supersprint SS1 and for Come & Try / Track Day Participants, complete online Come & Try . Do this once you have registered and before 16 April.
Since this is the first Supersprint for 2026, competitors please complete the online Annex C Form and submit by email. This assists having cars in the correct Supersprint Class.
Where passengers are involved, all drivers and passengers are to complete Passenger Ride Entry Form and submit it to the staff at the sign-on desk on the day.
